Mat writes. Everything is perfect... Depth, Clarity, Dynamics I have just found a the real meaning of DCD. All the boxes are ticked. It is great to know that people will spend the time making sure perfection is reached. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
Dennis writes, I cannot express to you enough of what this means to me. I did not have the opportunity to attend any of the DCD shows in europe, but what I have now in my hands is all i could have ever hoped for. The recording is brilliant, all of the reasons why i ever loved DCD are here... with gooey gobbs of reverb spilling forth from my speakers. I just wanted to say that not only is this the most amazing live recording from DCD that i have ever heard, but the packaging and disc art is truely beautiful and the staff of "The Show" has proven in my eyes to be preiminent in this type of enterprise. I thought that I would never again see a new release from Dead Can Dance, but with this Madrid set I hold in my hands, I am proven wrong. The sound quality is fantastic; all the nuances are there. You have done a great deed, my friends, and ALL fans of Dead Can Dance should appreciate your work.
G writes. Put the Paris disc on my Krell/Mark Levinson/Thiel rig last night. Good spatial depth...that frame drum sounds like it's about 20 feet behind Brendan Perry. I'd call this an audiophile grade production.
Simon writes, I've just received my Dead Can Dance show discs (the Dublin show, 10th March). I just wanted to tell you that you have done a truly wonderful job - I would happily have waited even longer to obtain such a lovingly crafted and perfect rendition of one of the most memorable gigs of my life. It's exactly as I remember it, and being sat in the middle of the second row at the time, I've got the night etched into my cortex. It knocks spots off any other live album I've got! Don't ever sacrifice quality for speed; you guys are definitely the business.
The final shows are off to the band for approval. We have finished mixing and mastering all 13 shows, and are now waiting for the bands comments on the last 8. We've sent the first 5 off to be manufactured, and shipped the Dublin CDs on 5/18.
We are currently in the studio mixing and mastering each album. As we finish a show, we send it off to the band for their comments. They come back and we make the changes and then we revise. When you receive your discs, you can be sure they will be created with the full cooperation and artistic endorsement of the band.
With Dead Can Dance, we've recorded a very complex, 40-channel multi-track, and this takes time, in fact a bit more time than we originally anticipated. But we can promise it will be well worth the wait.
The product looks and sounds great and we can't wait to start shipping to you. We'll keep this page updated with details on shipping and post-production and maybe even post a song or two, so keep checking back for updates. Brendan and Lisa and The Show want these to be perfect and we're guessing you wouldn't want it any other way either.
Yours,
The Show Crew
